Amanda Kane-Smith is a highly experienced performance storyteller and author based in Andover, Hampshire. As a traditional storyteller, she tells stories and creates story-based events for all ages, engaging audiences with her high energy, interactive style of storytelling. Under the name 'Merry-go-Round Storytelling', Amanda also specialises in interactive and multi-sensory storytelling workshops, and creative sessions for children. She takes her workshops into schools, preschools, theatres, events and festivals. With over 15 years of experience as a storyteller, Amanda has worked for a number of high profile venues in a variety of ways, from performance storytelling outdoors in the woods, with owls flying overhead at the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Hampshire, to interactive storytelling for World Book Day at Hamleys in London - she's even told stories to children on the back of a farm truck at Leckford Farm Estate for Waitrose. (The truck wasn't moving at the time!) With a background in the performing arts as both an actor and director, Amanda is comfortable working with audiences big and small and is able to devise workshops and create story based sessions, including simple puppet and mask making, tailored to the needs of each setting or event. You can also commission her to write and develop stories for projects and events. She is an experienced project leader and an ACE Grant recipient.
