Hello! I'm Emily and I'm a storyteller and singer from North London. As a child of Irish tellers and folk singers, I've a rich background in folk tales and songs, fairy tales, myth and legends, which I bring to life through the ancient art of oral storytelling.
A former English teacher and literacy specialist with over 20 years' experience, I design, develop and deliver bespoke workshops, storywalks and story experiences to spark creativity and imagination. I work with schools, families, young people and adults.
My storytelling for grownups shows 'Words in the Water', 'Stories for all Seasons' and 'Whispers from the Otherside' mingle story and original music.
My School Workshops include story-building, poetry writing and performing, curriculum linked topic stories (Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Anglo Saxons, etc). I have lots of experience working with children with SEND and PMLD and I also deliver CPD and training to teachers and librarians.
I perform for Families at libraries, community events, festivals and famous Heritage sites including: The British Library, London Museum, National Gallery, Horniman Museum to name but a few!
I currently host a children’s story podcast “Dragonfly Tales”, providing FREE stories for families. It features folktales and fairy tales from around the world, as well as original songs composed specially for each episode. The podcast has gathered listeners all over the world and is now approaching 1 million downloads!
