Angela Marie James

I am a performance poet and storyteller, and a multi-genre author of books for both children and adults, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. I have experience of visiting nurseries, primary and secondary schools and deliver interactive and engaging workshops. I am also available to perform and/or deliver workshops at colleges, universities, community events, festivals, clubs, museums, libraries, etc. I can deliver performances, assemblies and workshops to individual classes/year groups, families, small or large groups of children/adults or via virtual sessions (e.g. Teams, Zoom). The workshops cover topics such as animals, the Titanic, war, conflict, engineering and spooky poems/stories, as well as poems from my upcoming children’s poetry book series, I Don’t Want To (titles include I Don’t Want To Go to Bed, I Don’t Want To Eat That and I Don’t Want To Go to School). I offer both in-person visits and for those too far to travel to; I offer virtual visits. I also offer online workshops for EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3/KS4 and adults (see my website for details). I am the Chair of Governors at a primary school, with Level 1 Safeguarding and Prevent training. I have an Enhanced DBS certificate and am registered on the DBS Update Service.
