THIS MONTH:

Guest Teller – Bevin Magama

Grandma's Mudhut Stories - A collection of African Folklore

Bevin Magama is a Zimbabwean-born storyteller and writer living in Cardiff and is our guest storyteller at Swansea Storytelling for Friday 26th May.

Expect humour, wit, and dynamic telling, thought provoking tales punctuated with songs and mbira. “His stories grip fiercely onto their primitive rhythms as they unfold.”

In the legendary folktale of Chaminuka, a spirit comes to possess a warrior prince who is obsessed with conquering and plundering, but all is not all as it seems. When the Spirit extricates itself from the Prince all hell breaks loose behind the walls of the stone city of Great Zimbabwe.

Additional contributions are welcomed from the floor - please contact us in advance to avoid disappointment.
