Storytelling for Change
Learn storytelling skills for social and personal change. This is a course of two Sundays, on 1st and 22nd October 2017, 10am to 4.30pm. Storytelling skills help us to express ourselves more clearly, by practising listening and speaking in a group. There will be voice exercises, and movement to ground energies and focus while in the storytellers hot seat! Telling particular stories which have meaning for us can bring us courage, tenacity and insight. Telling a story is empowering for the teller, and can even improve your memory. The world is at a point of rapid change in values and social skils. If you feel this impulse and need presentation skills for the cause you want to promote, then join the course. If you are unable to, then I may be able to come to facilitate your group. Teachers and parents always need to tell stories 'on their feet' as they encounter the raw edge of the next generation. If appropriate, we will learn to create new wise and dramtic tales.
The course will be held in the newly completed Stroud Community Agriculture straw bale building, just on the driveway at Hawkwood College, Stroud.
Facilitated by storyteller Josie Felce, www.storymagic.co.uk.
