Hare Moon Storytelling Camp
'The best camp ever'- Graeme Mallone 2013 Hare Moon Storytelling Camp is a tiny festival set in beautiful ancient woodland in Cambridgeshire. Now in its fifth year, the camp was modelled on Dance Camp East which began in Norfolk in the 1990s, promoting social inclusion, a shared ownership of the process and the importance of leaving the site as we found it. In order to reduce food waste, evening meals are included in the ticket cost. The food is vegan and we have yet to find a diet or food allergy we can't accommodate. The site includes a large sauna, a hot tub and heated covered spaces. Numbers are limited to 65 people including, crew, campers, children and storytellers so it really is small. Unless a storyteller has a book to sell, there is absolutely nothing to spend money on at the camp. Everything is included in the price of the ticket. No booking fees, no hidden extras. Previous tellers include Wendy and Michael Dacre, Hugh Lupton, Paul Jackson, Marion Leeper, Liam Carroll, Abie Palache, Dave Tonge and Su Squire. This year's tellers include Tuup, Suki Silvertongue and, back by popular demand, Dominic Kelly. Each year the camp hosts a theatre company and for 2017 we have the excellent 'Little Fawn Caravan Theatre' featuring a veritable master of object manipulation, Shane Connolly.
