An exciting new collaboration, which brings together story-telling, stage-design, gardening and performance.
Trans-Plantable Living Room needs you to help it happen!
Stories unearthed: community theatre workshops and oral-history interviews explore gardening stories, including how gardening practices have changed over time. The stories will be collected together into a book and be available online at Peoples' Collection Wales website.
Last week the new, revitalised, SfS board met physically for the first time. Apart from setting plans and policies for the next year, the post-Gathering meeting is a time to review and reassign roles on the board, which we duly did.
The art of storytelling has come a long way since tales were passed on from family member to family member all those years ago. And, naturally, for a medium that has adapted with the times so easily, and given that recording a story being told can be simple as pressing play on a dictaphone, it’s not surprising that tales are being told through the very 21st century medium of the podcast. We round out some of the best out there, and hope that you’ll be able to give them a listen sometime to discover their many delights.
With the summer months come a whole shoal of storytelling festivals, both at home and abroad. We’ve already taken a look at a few of those taking place, but because we want to show you the full array of what’s out there (and whet your appetite a little further), here are some more events that will hopefully excite the young and the slightly less young, and inspire everyone from the wannabe teller to the old hand.
