to the Society for Storytelling.

The SfS is a registered charity, number 1052038, and is run almost entirely by volunteers apart from our single part-time administrator and part-time website project manager.

Our promotion of the art of storytelling has taken many forms - from campaigning successfully for a National Storytelling Week to helping events organisers find the right storyteller for them in our Directory. Recent suggestions from our members have added several new areas to aim for, such as helping to organise the mentoring of new storytellers, and providing a mail order library service.

Running all of these activities often requires a great deal more than membership fees alone. We are therefore most grateful for any donations received. If you are a UK tax payer, you can also provide your address and allow us to claim back the tax on your donation. However, feel free to provide an anonymous donation.

If you would like your donation to be considered for a particular use, please use the comments box to let us know. However, please note that Gift Aid legislation does not allow us to reclaim tax on donations for a specific purpose - therefore we cannot guarantee that your money will go towards a project of your choosing. Nevertheless, we can guarantee that your donation will be used solely for the support and promotion of storytelling - and your ideas for how to do this will be gratefully received also.
